Hand Protection in a Stamping Department is Vital.
The best way to ensure workers are using the proper style of glove is by identifying the threat and outfitting them with the best cut resistant glove to match that threat.
In many cases, the minimum cut standard in the Stamping Department is determined by EHS. When that's the case, click here to choose your glove by the cut level.
In our experience, Stamping Departments tend to use a glove with a cut level A6 or higher. Other factors to consider are:
When removing the stamped part out of the press, it's natural for the thumb crotch of the glove to bear the brunt of that task, especially when managing larger parts. Look for gloves that have a reinforced thumb crotch, which protects the team member and helps the glove last longer.
When concussion is also a threat to the hand, choose a glove that provides some cushion while still maintaining dexterity, such as a terry-cloth or a heavy weight glove.
For team members who struggle with larger parts, gloves that have our high heat silicone dots for excellent grip (and help dissipate any heat), will help them do their job.
All of the gloves recommended below have been proven solutions in Automotive Stamping Departments for many years.
