This pullover jacket was designed by a float glass manufacturer, and has been a proven solution for many years.   While it’s standard practice to incorporate a 360° collar to protect the neck from the dangers of working with raw glass, the collar can be left open, which leaves it to the superviors to enforce compliance.  This glass manufacturer was done with that, and asked us to create a 360° collar where the team member is always in compliance. 
And the “Ralston” collar was born.

The fabric we use to make our cut & puncture protective garments is tightly woven and won’t snag or sag.  Knitted sweaters have a tendency to sag at the neckline exposing the vulnerable neck, and the garment can easily snag, causing other safety concerns.  Be definition, a knit is a series of yarns and holes, and shards have the unique ability to find those holes.  No matter who makes the garment, we always recommend that it’s made using a woven fabric, especially on the front (if there is no threat from behind, using mesh on the back is very common to help keep the team members more comfortable, especially in hot weather).
