Stamping Safety Apparel
In the stamping industry, personal protective apparel (including cut protective gloves) is a must. At Tri-Star Glove, with more than 20 years’ experience manufacturing safety apparel for all aspects of the automotive industry, we understand the hazards involved with stamping processes. Working closely with the automotive manufacturers and their Tier 1s to solve problems has many benefits. One such benefit is that the large number of garments we’ve designed by listening to the customer then pairing the right high-performance raw materials to match the threat of cut and/or heat, have proven themselves to protect the team members. This benefit gives you the opportunity to use safety apparel that already exists, has a history of providing protection, and allows you to hit the ground running. Alternatively, we can design a garment specific to your company and your process. Either way, we’ve got you covered.

Metal Stamping
Stamping is the process of forming metal parts into a desired form or shape. There are many types of stamping processes, including:
- Blanking
- Piercing
- Drawing
- Bottoming and coining
- Forming
- Pinch trimming
- Progressive/Multi-step stamping
- Hot stamping
- Lancing
Why is Safety Apparel Necessary for Stamping?
The metal used in the stamping process is sharp, potentially hot, and dangerous to handle. From the input metal to the completed part, to the resultant scrap, each step can be hazardous to the team member. Our garments and gloves will protect them from cuts, lacerations, and burns. The high-performance fabrics we use are inherent flame resistant, which means the protective properties are inherent to the fiber and won’t burn, melt, or drip over the life of the garment (nor can they be laundered out).
